More Aldi Superstores in the UK Supplied by JWL.
In June 2006 we were nominated to supply the new Aldi superstore in Truro. Twelve months later we have just completed the supply of two new stores in the UK, one at Brecon in Wales, the other in Dunstable.
Coming first was the Brecon store which required 18000 Marley Edgemere tiles and all necessary fittings. Also ordered from our German partners were 2000 20x10 SSQ Domiz Spanish slate.
A few weeks later, we were successful with our tender for supplying 41,500 Sandtoft 20/20 clay tiles, again with all fittings, for a new store at Dunstable.
We must thank the Sandtoft rep, Ian Oadle and the Sandtoft sales team for the exceptional service given to us and of course to our German partners for their continued business. Tenders have gone in for more stores - watch this space.

Jason Joins the Lead Team.
Jason Matthews is the latest employee of J W Lewis to have successfully completed the Lead Welding and Basic Bossing course at Exeter.
Jason joins Richard Bristow, Andrew Barrott, Mark Reski and Mark Rundle who are all qualified to carry out lead welding. With the growing requirement from our clients to carry out leadwork, Richard and Andrew remain full time lead workers, where as Mark Reski and Mark Rundle are on average carrying out leadwork three days a week, thus quickly gaining experience and inproving their already high standards. Current and forthcoming contracts show that the need for leadwork will continue to increase, so Jason is a valuable addition to our expert team.
Next up is Stuart Clarke who will attend the course in April.

A New Contract Close to Home!
Following recent success in obtaining a new housing development contract with Barratt Homes and further phases of on-going developments with Barratts, Persimmons and David McLean Homes, we are pleased to announce that we can now add another leading house building company to the list. George Wimpey UK Ltd have awarded us the roofing and leadwork contract on a brand new development.
George Wimpey UK Ltd have been dedicated house builders with 125 years experience and build a range of houses from one bedroom apartments and starter homes up to large detached family homes throughout the UK. This now extends to Rockview Gardens at Roche (St Austell). It is initially planned that a minimum of 50 dwellings will be built which will have a tile never previously used by J W Lewis - the Russell Grampian concrete interlocking tile.
This is the first ever contract awarded to us by George Wimpey, and we are very confident it won't be the last.

We are pleased to announce that Neil Scott has joined the office staff replacing Steve Purcell-Herbert.
.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Neil has worked mainly in the communications field for BT and for private communication Companies. When Neil and his family re-located to Cornwall in December 2005, Neil went to work for Serco whilst renovating his newly purchased property. When he became aware of our job vacancy, Neil immediately sent in his application which after two interviews proved to be successful. Although not experienced in roofing, his stores and computer skills will assist his training and he has already proved a keen willingness to learn.
Neil has quoted “I wish to thank J W Lewis for giving me this opportunity and I am really looking forwarding to learning all I can to assist my Directors and colleagues. I am sure I will enjoy every minute.”
